It's about the wind in the face

This is a bit of a dodgy write up - a bit 'micky mouse' but here goes.
Bought these saddle bags from Richard Hyosung website.

The instructions on the web site state "All these bags don't require any mounting brackets. They fit under the passenger seat and tie to the chrome support on the side of the rear fender."

The first part is straight forward enough but I was less than sure how to attach them to Chrome support without the bag falling into the wheel area or resting on the fender or rear suspension.

Anyway this was my solution.
I replace the M8 60mm bolts that secure the chrome support to the fender with M8 75mm bolts and drilled holes through the side of the saddle bags and secured them via these bolts.

I removed the pillion seat

Then I cable tied the saddle bags together through the eyelets.

This was sufficient to keep them solid and free from the wheel, exhaust and rear springs. Job done.

And now for a pose.

Edited because the saddle bags sagged a bit as ice dog predicted...

Cut some 2.5 mm aluminium in 15cm strips  and used them to support the bags.

Tie zipped the eyelets again

And it was done

Looks sharp - is it sufficient to stop them rubbing against the side of the rear fender when loaded? Can't tell how much clearance there is from the photos.

BTW You need to change your sig bar since you obviously have taken delivery - no longer "soon to be..."

Hope we get the twins along with you on a ride, it'll be triplets - what a blast. Cheesy

I think so - there seems to be an inch or so, didn't seem rub on my late arvo run to H/b and back on the freeway with a decent old wind... but time will tell when they are really loaded.  Grin
I have a feeling within a year or two I'll end with some really nice leather ones. Roll Eyes

PS if it does I'll add some wire behind them but I think they should be ok.
