I thought i'd have a look at ways to make my bike faster. Anyway this is what i thought would work.

I bought a larger jet for the carb. I bought a conical air filter. I bought an NGK spark plug. I bought a performance CDI unit and i put better oil in when i did the oil change.

Next i'm looking at changing the chain and sprockets.

Someone told me to change the carb for another bigger one, but i'm not sure about that. Also a better AMR CDI unit can be bought, but needs modding to make fit on a Skygo SG125-J or Lifan LF125-J.

Well i haven't. All i did was remove the bottom of the carb, take out the old jet and screw in the new jet. It doesn't take long to do, but is worth doing. You can buy new jets on Ebay for very little cost.

Bigger jets work well with a low restrction air cleaner and a freeflowing exhaust. Without those theres a good chance that the bike will run excessively rich and foul the sparkplug.

Just for the record. Anyone buying a CDI unit for a Skygo SG125-J should either make sure it's a single socket CDI unit which will fit without needing modifying or make sure you can buy an adapter for one of those double socket units. Just look under your left hand side side panel to make sure and to see where it fits.
