This is my version of Richards installation of a Daelim Daystar shield on a GV250. Neither my version nor Richards is necessarily the "right way". There really is no right way as these shields aren't meant for the GV250 but can be made to work with some modification.

NOTE: This install requires additional hardware from the Hyosung GV250 shield kit. If you decide to try this, make sure you get the appropriate parts.

So, getting started you will need:

  • 13MM Wrench
  • 10MM Wrench
  • #3 Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Coffee!

First off, apply the rubber pads that come with the Hyosung shield kit to the handle bars. Mine already had them from a previous installation.

Next, take the right bar clamp and mount it upside down on the right handlebar.

Do the same for the left side. You should be left with a setup loke the picture below:

Insert the angle bars. Install the shield struts on the shield leaving the bottom screw out and replacing the top corner nuts with the plastic hex nuts from the Hyosung shield kit. Mount the shield on the angle bars but do not tighten.

NOTE: Do not use the Daelim logo'ed vertical struts.

Take the right side strut shown and bend it about 40 degrees. In the picture below, I show one bent that is mounted, and one unbent that I am holding.

Attach the strut to the bottom mount hole of the shield with the provided screw. Take another bar clamp and mount it on the light bar with the tab of the strut place between the two ends and fasten. Do the same for the other side.

NOTE: This is a point where Richard's install and mine differ. Richard used the vertical logo'ed struts. I didn't. They were very close to the forks, so I decided not to chance scratching the chrome.

Adjust the angle bars so that the shield is at an angle you like and tighten.

Tighten all bolts and your done.

Special thanks to Richard for providing the shield for this install. Please give him a visit at:

Heh, I was wondering why you posted a front view when there was one in my original post. Then I looked again and notice the last two pics were the same. I forgot to change the link in the last paste. Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Hey Bill,  I was just looking at your install of the Daelim Daystar windshield on the GV250.  Love the look. Grin  I was just wondering if it would be possible to bend the adjustment rods on the handlebars out a little to get it out of the way of the gauges?  It looks like the rods are plenty long enough.  Or, would this mess the whole thing up.  Are there any adjustments to allow for this?

Thanks for the write-up.  I think, even if the adjustment arms can't be bent, I am going with this windshield.  I love the   look.  I'm going to order it from Richard Jordan.  His web site says that the windshield comes with the GV250 install hardware.  I guess that's all I need. Undecided

The rods are very stiff. I doubt you will be able to bend them easily.

I too liked the look, but I took it off. There's just something about me and shields. I've tried four different shields and none worked as I expected.

Hey all,  I'm looking for a similar windshield only without the braces going to the handlebars.  I really like the looks of this but I want just the fork mount on my bike.  It needs to be sturdy for highway riding and for when those big rigs go blasting by.  I've been looking for a long time.

Any one have any ideas.  Any help would be appreciated.

Have a good one and ride safe.
