Easy solution is to sleep with the bike. Any wife worth her salt will eventually get used to it, and it keeps the chrome warm. -- Kai Nui

This has been the most ask about and asked for installation guide that I, or Richard can recall. So for everyone out there, here it is.

Many thanks to Richard Jordan for making this guide possible.

What you will need:
  • 14mm Wrench
  • 12mm Wrench
  • #3 Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Engine Guards from Richard
  • Coffee

Note: Because the riser clamps and guards are different for each side, I will detail each side starting with the right side.

Right Side:

Using a 14mm wrench, remove the rear bolt from the right side peg mounting plate and set the bolt aside for a moment.

Fit the right side engine guard over the bolt hole (the right side can be distinguished from the left in that it only has one bolt hole on the bottom of the guard, the left side guard has two). Screw the bolt through the guard and into the plate, but do not tighten yet.

There are two riser clamps and they are different. One has an extra tab that the other does not. The one with the extra tab is for the right side of the bike.

Remove the horns chrome cover. Next remove the screw holding the horn bracket using a #3 Phillips head screwdriver. Let the horn hang by it's wires.

Facing the right side of the bike, take the piece of the riser clamp with the tongue and place it on the back side of the riser. Next take the piece of the riser clamp with the extra tab and feed the tongue from the first piece though the slot in the current piece. Rotate the clamp until the extra tab covers the horn mounting bracket.

Fit the engine guards top bolt tab in between the two bolt tabs of the clamp. Insert one of the provided bolts through the bolt holes in the clamp and guard from the front. Put one of the provided nuts on the backside and tighten using a 12mm wrench.

Here's a tip, take the Phillips head screw provided with the guards and screw it into the horn mounting bracket through the clamp. This will keep the clamp aligned as you tighten the bolt.

Remove the phillips head screw and place the horns bracket back over the bolt hole. Insert and tighten the phillips head screw provided.

Tighten the rear peg plate bolt.  Replace the horns chrome cover.

You're now done with the right side.

Left Side:

Remove the two bolts holding the peg plate using a 14mm wrench.

Feed the left side engine guard up through the bottom to mate up the guards holes to the plate holes. Screw the bolts through the guard and peg plate, but do not fully tighten yet.

Facing the left side of the bike, place the part of the riser clamp with the slot on the back of the riser. Take the other piece of the clamp and fee the tongue through the slot. Rotate into position and feed the engine guards top bolt tab in between the tabs of the clamp.

Feed the bolt through the clamp and tighten using the nut provided with a 12mm wrench. Tighten the peg plate bolts.

You're done with the left side and the installation in general.

Again, many thanks to Richard Jordan who made this installation guide possible.
