I found a 2008 Rhino motorcycle for sale that i'm condsidering buying if i'm able to get it at a good price but it needs a new carb. Does anyone know where i may be able to find a carb for a Rhino and if so, how much it may cost? Thanks

I've been trying to get in touch with current owner to see if he thinks it can be repaired or not but havent had any luck today. He said that the idle adjustment screw on the carb is broken off of the carb. Hopefully I can get in touch with him to find out more details.

Is this the bike? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619&item=290742561037 I have an extra carb. But this bike is going to need more than that. I'm afraid that it needs an ignition module as well. It is on the cheap though.

I wondered that too.  A few days ago I saw that Rhino up on eBay and went searching for a good forum and found this one.  So far it is easily the best forum for these types of bikes.  You guys know your stuff!  What's funny is I read a post where you (couion) had repurchased a 2009 Rhino after missing your 2008 (and noticed you had some extra carbs with your 2009 purchase) and wondered if there would be a possibility to help out with that eBay bike.

Anyway, been debating whether to bid on the one on eBay and ultimately decided I didn't have the mechanical skills to buy a Rhino in case I have issues.  Not sure I feel like carting it around the Twin Cities (Minneapolis) if I do have issues.  Plus, I ride a GZ250 right now and aside from looks and "coolness" factor, a Rhino is not likely going to get me any better performance out on the highway where I frequently ride 65-70mph.  And that's ultimately what I'm really looking for.

Anyway, just wanted to give props to this site!  EXTREMELY useful and has been a great read the past few days to help me sort out my thoughts on a future purchase.   Smiley

Welcome Northsiders. I did purchase another Rhino and do have spares. If this bike sells to someone on the forum I will gladly help with any issues. I have my Rhino running very well at the moment and it will cruise at 65 to 70 with no problems.

Welcome to ACD northsideres!

couion, could the carb in the ebay add be the black sludge problem? At least I seem to recall there was a carb problem on these that was due to some form of black sludge.

The first bikes to roll into the U.S. did have a problem with crap in the tank. If you look closely at the pic pf this bike you can see the blue pipe. That is the catalytic converter that has melted down. It happened to me as well when my ignition module died. The cat got very hot from filling up with raw fuel and then the module would fire intermittantly and light off the fuel in the cat. It has a melted cat and likely an ign. module that is out.

Welcome to ACD northsideres! Grin That is the same bike couion! I still haven't heard back from the seller though and the auction ends in a little over an hour. I noticed that it has a couple of bids on it now but i didn't bid on it. Even though it has an inexpensive starting bid on it, i'm kind of worried about what i maybe getting into if i did bid on it without talking to the seller first. I appreciate the input couion and knowing that it probably needs ignition module as well makes me think that i should probably hold off of that Rhino and just keep looking.

If you don't buy it I will. I have all of the parts to fix it and can guide you through the repair process.
