They claim that the entire frame is made from "aircraft grade" T6 aluminum so that could be why.

Just got a wealth of information about these things. Whole thing sounds like a spy novel.

Supposedly, the parts are sourced from Hisun in China but the bikes are assembled in Belarus by Minsk, who in turn distribute them worldwide.

In addition to this, Bennche demanded the suspension be tweaked to compensate for the size of the American rider. For that reason, people have said the ride is god awful. Also sounds like the quality is incredibly poor. http://www.chinariders.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11257

Sounds like Bennche and Megelli will be cutting off their relationship as well but I cannot confirm.

Sorry for the double post but it looks like Megelli bikes will no longer be distributed through Bennche as Megelli is currently looking for a new distributor for the US.
