Hi Guys,

My little Hyo has now gone 800kms. Anyway I'm as mechanically minded as K Kardashian.

Gotta say I though all this run in thing was a crock. I'm wrong, the little Hyo has just lately burst to life. Seriously I reckon it just feels like a different bike.

I came from a CF Moto V5 and found this OK. I was expecting much more form the Hyo & was a little disappointed as it was supposed to have about double the hp of the V5.

Aint disappointed any more, its just a really nice ride and pulls (now) much, much better than the V5.

Thanks for reading.

The first thing you do when you get a Hyosung is change the oil. Unless you trust the dealership implicitly to have done it.

The Hyosungs come from the factory with what is termed shipping oil. This oil is more to prevent corrosion than anything else IMHO. It actually retards the GV's performance. New oil will make a he** of a difference. Especially in the GV250.

Thanks Hyo, I know you are a big fan. And yes here in Australia its a very under rated bike. The thing is it gets a few looks when I park it.

I dont know if its just me getting more used to it but its a real delightful bike for what I use it for around the suburbs. And a big bonus is I find it really good in the wind. I used to hate my old V5 on windy days but the gv seems so much better, even though it weighs a bit less.

Anyway Happy & Safe Easter to All fellow 2 wheelers on the site.

So that explains why mine was severely overfilled when I brought it home from the dealer....   I leaned it way to the right while my wife looked at the sight glass till the bubble appeared, then drained just under a quart to get it to the right level.  If I'd known about the shipping oil I'd have changed it flyer the first fifty or so miles.

I agree about the power after break in.  The first trip I took out of town I was really disappointed but that changed fairly quickly.
