I do have my tyres inflated to a high pressure and my front suspension set up fairly hard to compensate for my total inability to ride sedately, despite my best intentions, the bike just yells C'MON!!! every time I climb aboard - and the tyres seem to pay the price! -- Frenchy

i recently purchased a can of Knob Polish from www.shtuffforbikers.com ($12.95) and i have to say i'm impressed. i have a 2004 GV250, that i purchased in november after it had sat in a garage for almost 2 years. the bike had a nice layer of grime and  what looked like water spots all over it and they weren't about to be wiped off or even washed off. i put some Knob Polish to it and with minimal effort the bike looked like new. the chrome shines like no other now and the over all result is amazing. i only wish i would have taken before and after pics. Although i have nothing to compare it to other than Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and Rust Remover (which was pretty much pointless) i would have to say after this experience, i don't know what could work better. Since then i've used it on my wife's jewelry, my truck (body and chrome bumper), swords, saddlebags, mirrors, glass... basically anything i can. the stuff is amazing, and i recommend it to anyone. now i'm not completely close-minded, so what do you use to polish up your bike?

ha ha can easily be taken the wrong way... i'm in the US Navy as a Drill Instructor, and we use cutlasses, so when someone brings one to me that's rusted or tarnished i try and restore it, because each one is $375, knob polish has been doing wonders on them. now if only the navy would subsidize me for all the money me and my knob polish have saved them...

hmmm, have great-grand-dad's WW1 cavalry sabre - could do with removing a few "spots" - if I can find some I'll try that too  Grin

I have been using lemon pledge on the GT250.  Not only is it a quick clean but with the lemon yellow bike and the lemon smell its a nice weekly cleaner
