Why the quick turnaround? First post in the thread about the Softtail Slim was March 1st, now last day of May and it's swapped out for a RK?

I agree, it was a quick and costly change...  Wife quickly tired of waving bye to me on my morning rides and decided she would like to occasionally accompany me.  I felt a more touring oriented bike with dual-disc front brakes, air-ride (easily adjusted) rear suspension, and a higher GVWR would provide a safer 2-up solution. (and the geezer-glide is better suited to me)

ah, valid reasons to switch, though I can see where that would be a very costly decision to make. enjoy your new bike!

This is the beginning and end to every ride, dirt driveway, lime-rock grade.  First video, GoPro HD Hero 2 camcorder with chest mount.

Been there Phil, so I understand.  I had a Street Bob in December 2010 then a Road Glide in August 2011!   Grin

And it was costly, but I love the RG!  Your RK looks awesome!!!

Very nice bike.  I can agree with the shift, looking into using some saved bonus cash next spring, and probably moving into the tour line too.  I still have a thing for the softail deluxe in cobaly blue, but I have always loved the Road King.  Either way, I know I am headed to the boutique today, the new 13 line is supposed to be unveiled today, and what the heck, free brats!!!  Woo Hoo!!!

But I like the look of the new bike Phil.  Sherry (the wife) needs new knees, so we are going to take my current EVO Softail, and mount the Voyager kit for her.  She works in a psych ward, and got stomped in the knees pretty bad a month ago, and it tore up the reconstructed knee.  So they are doing a joint replacement, and she wont be able to put weight on for a while.  Long and short is I have the green light to shop, and a job with a bonus package, doesn't get better than that!  Might just have to test ride me one of those Road Kings today.

A short ride around the block... same POV as first video, changed from wide (170 degree) angle to medium (127 degree) angle:

Love the video Phil.  Beautiful piece of the country you live in.

Is that you on the lap dulcimer in the other video?  Very nice as well!
