... Have considered doing the Honda Silverwing from the early 1980s as well...

Just want something different...Unique...

Let me steer you away from the 80's silverwing.  I have one and it's a money pit so far.  Parts are not available except on ebay from people parting out.  There is very little in the way of NOS and what is for sale is not what goes wrong that can't be fixed.  Brake rotors...all used.  Body parts....used and usually broken somehow.  They are reliable bikes, but when you do need something, it's a while before you get it and it is most likely overpriced and over used.  Your decision.

welcome to the forum willridesomeday

I remember the old site let you buy direct and have shipped to your house.  Seems the new way is that you have to buy from a dealer.
You are correct the old site did allow folks to buy directly from the site this will no longer be the case. Johnny Pag USA will be selling bikes through its dealers. Parts will be sold through the web site, over the phone or through dealers.

Big problem since the dealer network seems to have shrunk a bunch...
This is true but i am talking to dealers that are willing to ship out assembled bikes to customers and we are in the process of growing the dealer network again. We will work to retain the dealers that have done a great job (there are some out there) and scrap the ones that have not. Quality dealers is more important then quantity of dealers. From here on out ,Johnny Pag USA dealers will be familiar with motorcycles.  All dealerships will have repair felicity's on site and be properly licensed in there state for motorcycles sales and service. We will be checking on them and not just picking up every one that said they want to be a dealer.

Love the Pags in looks but not sure I can trust them and am really leary on that price for what you get performance wise...
Johnny has put a lot of work into the new bikes. I still have not ridden one of them but as soon as i do, it will get put through its paces. When that happens i will give all of y'all my honest opinion on the bikes. We would not be making the competent that is being made if we did not have faith in the new product and for Johnny to deliver.

Ivor, I appreciate your commitment and candor.  I have had two Spyders and have been impressed by the service in the past, considering it was a non-mainstream, unknown Chinese bike just a few years ago.  I will be impressionable in the future.  This restructuring, and new model line, is obviously an attempt to disassociate the company from the "cookie cutter" knockoffs, and to reestablish a  network of qualified dealers.  I applaud the foresight and goals of the JPM executive team, and their efforts to make JPM a badge to contend with.  I await the results.

Thanks to everyone for the warm response.  I did have one person with no posts ever ask me where I lived in a PM.  I ignored that.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback on the Silverwing.  I discovered that bike doing a search for smaller displacement Goldwings.  The weight of an 1100+ bike is honestly not something I'm comfortable with or something my legs and back like when holding up at a light.  I really want to stay in that not over 750cc range.

To Ivor, thanks also for the candidness.  You seem like a straight up guy and everyone here seems to put you in high regards.  Please accept my next statement though with the best of intentions.  Since you work with/for Pag, if these new bikes show up and are horrible (just for sake of argument), I honestly wouldn't expect you to say that.  With what you seem to having riding on it, it would seem counter-productive to then negatively comment on the new line-up.

Again, just my honest thoughts.  The two biggest things I'm interested in will be:

Legit cruising speed of the new 350 (320cc) bikes and what the accessories and service options will be...

What happens to price when the 650 versions show up...That Malibu in a 605 interests me a lot...I am a bit disappointed he didn't keep the 350 Spyder around though...unless that'll be the Pagatti.

Thanks...I wonder if they'll also come out with a 350 version and then the 650 like all the rest...

Also wonder if that 107mph claim is correct for the 350s.  If so, then I'd bet a consistent cruising speed around 70-75 should be easy....right?

Of course, that could be 107 on the speedo, which if it is Chinese would mean maybe 80mph legit.

The current Spyders speedometers are off.  I know when I am doing 69, my wife is doing 60 in the Chrysler 300.  I am hoping the speedos in the new bikes will be a bit more accurate.

I don't think speedometers are accurate on ANY bike.

BUT i think that the speedo's are MORE accurate on the mainstream manufactures bikes than on JPM's bikes....

on my Rebel 250 @ 70-75 I was hanging with traffic in a 65 zone. On my JP Prostreet @ 75-80 I am getting passed in the same 65 zone....

If you get a PM that makes you uncomfortable, please report it to the moderators.

I'll slightly disagree with that. My Honda Shadow was dead on accurate. It was the exception though in all the bikes I've owned.
