I am agreeing that the Piglet probably does all I truly will ever do...The longest ride I could ever see myself taking would be to my parents, 5 hours away, and the way we go by minivan is mostly back roads...

If I ever did a long joy ride with my buddy, he doesn't go over 55 with his Vstar 1100, so the Piglet can do that...

Biggest thing I may do with the Piglet would be have someone fab a way to extend the controls slightly forward....I know someone has to be able to do it...

Loved the video on this site, made I think for the Indian market.

I agree, made for the Indian market. A video featuring an Asian bike, with caucasian actors for an Indian market. Interesting!  laugh laugh

Uhm, they were Indian. True they were light skinned Indians but their accents were Indian.

This happens alot in ads in the Philippines as well (I'm 1/2 Filipino), where the ads are with lighter skinned Filipino actors and actresses, since they look more "western."  Don't really get it, since I think all people are beautiful. but there you go!  Smiley

I think you've hit the nail on the head here, Vince.  Whatever bike you end up getting, it's gotta be comfortable for you, or you won't be riding it like you want to.

I think everyone has agreed the Piglet can capably do what my riding needs are...

70-75mph for truly no more that at most 15-20 miles at a time...most of the time it'd be 6 miles...

So, that being said, the only thing I'd need is the legroom...and the more I think of it, the ST7 is basically double the cost of a new GV250...no way for a whole lot less than $3800 that someone can fabricate forward controls for it...Even if they were one offs...Has to be possible...Just has to be...

Is there a possibility that you can borrow/rent a shifting bike that you can learn on while you are waiting to get the GV250?  The reason I mention this is that while you are taking into account the suggestions of the group here, the ultimate determiner of how the GV250 can perform is Vince.   A test ride could show you not only if the bike can be ridden for your needs, but also comfort and ergonomics (not just your legs, but your reach to the bars) are best determined while riding the bike.

Lance has a valid point.  position of the controls (foot and hand) is critical to comfort and operation.

I have sat on one before...Everything felt great...with Pegs it felt like it was 3-4 inches short in the legs....With footboards, it felt a little better....but I know I like forward controls...Handlebars and the rest of it felt just fine....I thought the seat felt fine as well...My wife says I have a boney @$$ so I don't think it gets really uncomfortable....I just need legroom to be comfortable...
