I doubt they ran out of steam. Lifan itself is a huge company. Of course, that does not mean anything about American Lifan. I hope dj will come on and update us.

The American Lifan site has one huge omission. There's no dealer locater that I could see.

You have to email them for a dealer and it always tells me Red Oak, TX no matter what location I told them I'm at....

I like the bikes and the old Viragos....just not too sure on American Lifan...seem a bit sketchy to me....they put out a blast of info and then just go quietly away...Seems very Rhino like to me...

Bill pegged it on the other thread - unless there is a good dealer supporting these bikes locally, I would probably consider other bikes.  A Lifan is a good bike, and would be great if you have some mechanical knowledge and don't mind doing some fixes to get it right.  Otherwise, as a potential purchaser of a bike, I would go with the big makes.

Red Oak Cycles are good people.  I've bought a bunch of electrical stuff online from them for my Kikker project.  They even referred me to a guy in Florida for performance parts, in case I need them in the future.  Prices are the best I've found and they ship fast.

Yeah, but if they are the only dealer in the US, then something is wrong...

Try Hooper Imports. I bought a 90 cc lifan engine a few years back and am very pleased.
