I know, not really news, but this is the official announcement.

From the S&T News page:

At the last EICMA 2009, the most popular model ST7 was the traditional cruiser motorcycle which is more perfect for long distance cruising than the sports cruiser Aquila 650.

The name ST7 is derived from the initials of ‘SUPER & TOP’, ‘SAFETY TRAVEL’, ‘SATISFACTORY TOUR’, ‘700cc engine solely developed by S&T Motors R&D departments’ and ‘symbol of lucky’. So the ST7 represents safe travel, and that is what brings lucky driving to you. And the ST7 is stresses the best performance and top quality in its class.

ST7 has the unique appeal of a mixed classical and sports style. Installed is a DHOC 8valve 90° V-TWIN engine with expanded displacement from 650cc to 700cc. This gives impressive low and mid-range performance fit into the theme of tour/cruising.

The frame of a traditional cruiser will give a comfortable riding position, neutral handling with a powerful engine.

Twin muffler, multiple LCD meter on fuel tank (17L), clear lens multi reflector headlamps, LED etc gives ST7 a combined style of modern functionality with a classical image.

ST7 will be released and will begin exporting at the end of January. There are two type of models; Standard and Deluxe (Deluxe comes installed with full accessories), and both come in black, red and white color.

So, as many guessed, they took the GV650 engine and bored stroked it out to 700678cc.

I so want to see the Deluxe model!

Edit: As new facts become known those fact will be updated.

The photos I've seen of the ST7, probably not the deluxe, show a great looking bike.  It looks like what I thought the GV650 would have looked like based on expectations I had from seeing the GV250.  But instead, the GV650 was more futuristic looking, which was a look that I didn't really care for, though others here love it.  This ST7 looks great to me.  Now, when are they going to drop the 700 cc engine into a GT?

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Isn't that a great looking bike??  I agree, it is what I would have expected the GV650 to look like. The ST7 and the GV250 are the best looking of all the cruisers out there, IMHO.

The more I look at it, though, I'm not digging something about that front fender.  Seems short or something.  Is that just a fender off of the GV250 on a bigger wheel?  First thing I'd do if I got the ST7 is change that front fender out.  Other than that, I love the looks of this bike.

I'm also kind of surprised that it isn't a 2 into 1 exhaust.  I thought all Hyosung's new bikes were 2 into 1.  I'm not complaining, though.  I thought the factory 2 into 1's looked a little clunky, or maybe I'm just not used to the look.  If it makes more room for a saddle bag, though, I'd think about it.  As it is, the right bag on my GV250 sits on the pipe.  I've already melted one of the quick release clips.  I have to find another one somewhere and fix it.

They still really need help with colloquial English.  To go out of your way to explain the strange meaning behind the naming convention is just not necessary.  It almost reads like a Lifan commercial.

No kidding...  Given the money tied up in this product - you'd think they'd be willing to throw $100 to somebody to proofread/rewrite the friggin' thing.  And the meaning behind ST???  Any one of the names offered would be bad enough - but they give 3 "reasons" for the name?!?  Which one is it???  Considering it's really just the initials of the parent company - do they really need to go further?

Really nice looking bike though - wonder how it'll do going up head-to-head against the 650 V-Star.
